OBJECTS WITH A STORY

Some objects are acquired for a season.
Others quietly wait for decades.

This Italian micro mosaic has been part of my personal collection for nearly twenty years.

Long before MugheA existed, I chose it simply because I was drawn to its remarkable craftsmanship — an intricate floral composition created from hundreds of tiny, hand-set glass tesserae.

Its original purpose is believed to have been part of a belt buckle. Like many objects that survive through time, its story before reaching me remains partly unknown.

For almost two decades, I kept it without ever quite knowing what I would do with it.

Perhaps that was the point.

Today, it remains exactly what first caught my attention:

a small work of art, carrying patience, craftsmanship and a history of its own.
